Fixing little teeth, gently

We offer both local anesthetic and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to increase your child's comfort through every restorative procedure.

Stainless Steel Crowns (SSC)

Stainless steel crowns are silver caps that cover the back teeth and preserve more of the tooth structure than other types of crowns. They withstand biting and chewing forces well, rarely chip or break, and adapt to a growing mouth, which makes them ideal for young patients in active occlusion.

Pulpotomy (Baby Root Canal)

A pulpotomy removes the infected nerve and pulp, then sterilizes and cleans the inside of the tooth before sealing it. Left untreated, an infected baby tooth can abscess and threaten the developing permanent tooth underneath.

Composite & Amalgam Fillings

Composites are tooth-colored restorations made primarily of quartz, ceramic or silica. They are durable, resist fractures in small to mid-size fillings, and can be used on front or back teeth, a great choice for a natural look. Amalgam remains available where it is the right clinical fit.

Simple & Surgical Extractions

A dental extraction removes a tooth that can no longer be restored due to decay, gum disease, dental trauma or orthodontic needs. Dr. Gates performs both simple and surgical extractions in-office with your child's comfort as the first priority.

Comfort options

Laughing gas makes it easy

Nitrous oxide/oxygen inhalation is a mild, colorless, sweet-smelling sedative used by many dentists to help facilitate treatment. It is safe and well tolerated by most children. It can reduce anxiety and a hyperactive gag reflex, raise the pain-reaction threshold, and produce sensations of euphoria and warmth that increase tolerance for longer appointments.
